Scrub grout

The tiles in your bathroom and kitchen floors and countertops are full of grout lines. Depending on the natural color of these grout lines, these areas can get very dirty quickly. Lighter colored grout tends to show the dirt and dust more than darker colored grout. Find an appropriate product and a small brush to scrub out the dirt and grime to keep the tile surfaces looking like new.

How to clean your grout

There are many different methods and products that people have come up with regarding cleaning grout.  Steam cleaning them with a steam cleaning device is certainly one of the more popular ways, because it does not require a lot of effort.

Using a cleaning solution with a tile brush and manually scrubbing each grout line also works.  The trouble with this method is It can take a long time and requires a lot of manual effort, especially if you have large tile areas in bathrooms and kitchens.

One of the more ingenious methods we found on youtube was to create a scrubbing device that you could insert into your cordless drill.  It involves buying some small round brushes, a long hex bolt, and a series of locking washers and nut.  If you try this, be careful and wear protective covering for your eyes.  Watch this video from Jeff Patterson with the Home Repair Tutor.
